New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: What We Do In The Shadows, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Too Hot To Handle + More
Back for it’s fifth season, the vampire roommates of What We Do In The Shadows are hitting the streets of Staten Island and the new episodes are some of the best of the series. Over on Prime Video, Jenny Han’s YA series The Summer I Turned Pretty returns for even more teen relationship angst, and on Netflix, the sexually frustrating anguish of Too Hot To Handle is back. This time around, the contestants have to resist the motion of the ocean as they abstain from having sex while spending the season on a yacht.
New on Hulu July 14: What We Do In Th Shadows (Season 5)
The first two episodes of What We Do In The Shadows season five are out this week (Thursday, July 13 at 10/9c on FX, and the next day on Hulu), and we’re really dying – undying? – to find out whether or not Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) has finally been turned into a vampire or not, as he hoped to at the end of last season. This season will also bring the return of Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), and Kristen Schaal’s character, The Guide, so get ready.
New on Netflix July 14: Too Hot To Handle (Season 5)
Get ready to welcome back LANA, everyone’s favorite cock-blocking AI, on an all-new season of Too Hot To Handle which is out now on Netflix. This time around, the contestants (a.k.a. “super-sexual hell-raisers,” which is how the trailer hilariously refers to them) all think they’ve signed up for a dating show called Love Overboard, which takes place on a yacht. They’re all sorely mistaken, of course, and soon enough they’ll find out that they’re on a show where they’ll be competing to see who can abstain from sex and any other form of intimacy the longest.
New on Prime Video July 14: The Summer I Turned Pretty (Season 2)
In The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s first season, Lola Tung starred as Belly, a teenager spending the summer at her family friends’ beach house, who develops feelings for the two brothers who live there, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). The second season, which is based on the second book in Jenny Han’s book trilogy, brings Belly back to the beach house one year later, as she is still trying to navigate her feelings for the brothers. The first three episodes of the new season will release Friday, with new episodes arriving weekly after that.
