Ghostface is back, and he (or she) wants you to watch him on demand this weekend! That’s right, Scream VI, the newest installment in the meta-comedy-horror franchise, is now available to stream, along with some other great movies, including the critically acclaimed films The Artifice Girl.
And in Return To Seoul, directed by Davy Chou, Ji-Min Park plays Freddie, a woman who was born in South Korea but raised in France by her adoptive parents. When she visits Seoul on a lark, she starts to piece together who she really is, she seeks out her birth parents, she creates a new identity for herself, as she tries to discover which parts of her are really her.
These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now!
Scream VI
Scream VI brings back several of the actors who have appeared in past installments of the horror franchise, including Melissa Barrera as Sam, Jenna Ortega as Tara, and of course, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. Sam and Tara, now living in New York City, far from Woodsboro and the killings they evaded in their hometown, but guess what? Ghostface loves the Big Apple! The young women work with Weathers and Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby Reed, now an FBI agent, to catch the killer that has tortured them all for decades.
The Artifice Girl
AI is everywhere these days (it might even have written this article! JKJK, I need this job), but the new film The Artifice Girl, poses the question of what happens when an AI starts to feel too real? In the film, a chatbot designed to appear like a child, who was built to lure and expose pedophiles, becomes sentient. The bot, named Cherry, seems so lifelike that her programmers begin to feel discomfort about the situations they’re putting her in, and the whole film poses the question of what “real” even means.
