Sure, the Oscars are going on. But have you seen all the new and returning shows (and movies) being teased in the commercials? From the first trailer for the live-action Little Mermaid to the Everything Everywhere All At Once reunion with the new Disney+ series American Born Chinese and a glimpse at Only Murders in the Building Season 3, there is loads to be excited about — including the surprise announcement that The Bear Season 2 will be coming to Hulu this upcoming June.

In the 30-second teaser, Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, as well as their other castmates are shown making their way through the empty restaurant in slow motion before White is heard saying, “Family style? Two tops? Booth?”

The clip concludes with a sign that reads, “The Bear is closed,” before revealing that the second installment of the series would be landing on Hulu in June — one year after it first debuted.

The show’s Twitter handle further teased the news as they captioned the trailer, “It’s not a reopening, it’s a rebirth.”

Meanwhile, fans of the series nearly lost their minds on social media following the unexpected announcement. One wrote, “Deadass choked on my gum when the bear szn 2 came on my screen.”

Another added, “Best news from The Oscars is that The Bear is back in June!”

“The bear!!! we love good news. and it looks like carmy washed his hair good for him,” someone else posted, while another said, “I just threw up everywhere i’m so excited.”

The series, which first premiered in June 2022, stars White as Carmy — a high-end chef who returns home to Chicago to take over his family’s sandwich shop after a death in the family. As he works to transform the restaurant, he runs into trouble managing a small business with a difficult staff.

The show became an instant success, earning a quick renewal for its sophomore season only one month after it premiered. It went on to garner several awards, including a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, which was given to White.

While we wait for an official release date, you can catch up on the first season of The Bear, which is currently streaming on Hulu. Check out the full teaser above.
