From The Last of Us to Saturday Night Live to seemingly every other video on your TikTok “For You” page, it really seems like Pedro Pascal is everywhere these days.

The 47-year-old “Internet Daddy” continued to bring entertainment and joy to all with his recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show. There, he sat sandwiched between actresses Dame Helen Mirren and Ariana DeBose, looking utterly charmed by his companions.

This was doubly true when host Graham Norton asked Mirren to talk about her experience working on upcoming DC superhero film Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The Academy Award-winning actress said she enjoyed her time on the project, but admitted it was sometimes difficult for her to understand the lingo and conversations of some of her younger castmates.

“But of course, they are young kids,” she said before turning to Pascal. “And I’m sure you know this from your experience with [The] Mandalorian. They live in another world, they talk a language I do not understand.”

DeBose commiserated over not understanding many of today’s popular references either. Sensing an opportunity to continue winning the hearts of everyone around the world, Pascal was then eager to share a phrase he had recently learned.

“There’s one that I learned recently that’s really wonderful,” he began. “Somebody was saying you ‘swerve.’ Do you know what swerving is?” he asked his couchmates, who both responded in the negative. Pascal reassured them that he didn’t know what it meant at first, either.

“I was like, ‘Oh, get somebody off your scent or something like that. I don’t know, confuse somebody.” He recounted being corrected, explaining, “And they were like, ‘No, they come in for a kiss and you swerve.’ Isn’t that great?” He added, “Only if you don’t want this kiss.”

Mirren then immediately jumped in to say, “I’m coming in for the kiss,” to which Pascal responded, “No, I won’t swerve.”

Mirren doubled down, insisting that she wanted Pascal to show this new bit of slang in action. He relented, but made sure to qualify that if Dame Helen Mirren was really going for it, he’d be receptive to a smooch.

“Just know that I would never swerve on you,” he said.

The two then demonstrated the swerve to great applause, as they laughed and embraced.
