FOX’s trailblazing teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 is a time capsule of ’90s nostalgia. I haven’t rewatched the show in a minute, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there were a scene featuring Ian Ziering’s Steve Sanders playing with a Skip-It while Andrea Zuckerman (Gabrielle Carteris) sips on a Crystal Pepsi and tends to her Tamagotchi. This hypothetical scene would (of course) be musically accompanied by the hit BoDeans single “Closer to Free” (network symmetry!).

Debuting in 1990 and concluding in 2000, the original 90210 is synonymous with ’90s pop culture, which makes it the ideal fit for a pitch-perfect That ’90s Show storyline.

The sixth episode of Netflix’s charming new That ’70s Show spinoff (“The Birthday Girl”) not only spoofs the legendary series but also features a cameo appearance from 90210 star Brian Austin Green. The actor portrayed musician/DJ/nightclub manager (shout-out to the Peach Pit After Dark!) David Silver for all ten seasons of the show. I know what you’re thinking, wait, did David Silver dance?

Umm… yeah. David Silver danced. David Silver basically invented dancing.

That ’90s Show’s attention to detail is a true chef’s kiss as the cast expertly lampoon the iconic 90210 intro (complete with the famed Jason Priestley double punch to Luke Perry during the opening moments of the song) and poke fun at the “David is a freshman” storyline from the early seasons of the teen drama.

Great work, That ’90s Show. And thank you for the actual gift of providing us with an image of the great Red Forman on 90210.
