Today, we’re shouting out a laudable lady and birthday girl (she turns 25 today!) who has been putting in the work on screens big and small for 13 years and counting. She’s a rising star you need to look out for so, without further ado, give it up for your WCW, the marvelous Madelyn Cline!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Madelyn Cline

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Cline plays Whiskey in the Netflix Original title Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which premieres on the platform this Friday, December 23. The highly-anticipated sequel to 2019 hit mystery comedy film Knives Out follows a thrilling new murder mystery with Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) on the case once again, this time revolving around tech billionaire Mile Bron (Edward Norton) and his friends, whom he has invited to his private Greek island for a remote getaway that quickly sours from paradise to nightmare when someone turns up dead.

In addition to Cline, Craig, and Norton, this star-studded film also features Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Kate Hudon, Dave Bautista, Ethan Hawke, Dallas Roberts, and Jackie Hoffman, so keep an eye out for their exciting work coming to Netflix later this week.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Cline’s professional onscreen career began with commercial work before earning the role of Matilda in 2009 adventure short film Milites Christi. From there, she picked up work in short films like Children of WaxBridge the Gap, and Wild Flowers, in addition to acting in feature films like 2011 thriller 23rd Psalm: Redemption and 2016 comedy Savannah Sunrise. She swiftly started accumulating multi-episode appearances in TV shows like The OriginalsStranger Things, and Vice Principals, as well as roles in films like 2018 biographical drama film Boy Erased and 2019 mystery thriller The Giant before earning the role for which she is best known, as main character Sarah Cameron in the popular Netflix Original teen action-adventure drama series Outer Banks.

Since then, Cline has added to her increasingly impressive filmography with work as Emily in 2020 drama film What Breaks the Ice and as Sophia Larocca in 2021 comedy-drama film This Is the Night. With all of this great work under her belt and immense potential to achieve even more in the future, we have no doubt that Cline is sure to soon become a household name, and we can’t wait to see all that she will pursue and achieve in the years ahead.
