Ryan Reynolds Says He Wrote A ‘Deadpool’ Christmas Movie That He Still Wants To Make

We are sure you are dreaming of lots of things for Christmas, but a Deadpool Christmas movie likely wasn’t one of them.

Ryan Reynolds recently revealed, however, that he is hoping a full script he wrote four years ago that “got lost” when Disney and Fox merged, will someday make it to screens.

“I would love to see a song-and-dance number in a Deadpool movie. Four years ago, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool,” he told Big Issue. “But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox and it never got made. Maybe one day we’ll get to make that movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full Deadpool Christmas movie. So one day.”

Reynolds is currently on a press tour for his new Apple TV+ release Spirited, a musical expansion of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol that also stars Will Ferrell.

While the actor does sing and dance in the film, he recently said he doesn’t plan on doing any more big production numbers in the future.

Deadpool did almost make a Christmas movie in 2018, when PG-13 re-edit of Deadpool 2 was released in cinemas as Once Upon a Deadpool.

As for what we have to look forward to with the next Deadpool movie? Marvel Boss Kevin Feige has previously promised is that Marvel Studios will certainly be looking to outdo the previous Deadpool movies. He commented:

“How do we elevate it in the way we’ve been able to with Civil War and Infinity War and Ragnarok? It’s very fun to be in the world of the Ryan Reynolds show.”

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on November 8, 2024.
