‘Andor’ to Premiere on Freeform, FX and More Starting This Thanksgiving

As a holiday gift for Star Wars lovers, Disney+’s Andor series will soon be reaching new audiences. In commemoration of Thanksgiving, the Big Mouse announced that the first two episodes of the series will be available on ABC, FX, Freeform and Hulu (all of which are owned by Disney).

The two episodes, titled “Kassa” and “That Would Be Me,” will drop first on ABC, where they will premiere Nov. 23 from 9-10:30 pm ET/PT. The episodes will come to FX next on Nov. 24 from 9-10:30 pm ET/PT, followed by Freeform on Nov. 25 from 9-10:30 pm ET/PT. Finally, they’ll both stream on Hulu in an extended window beginning Nov. 23 and ending Dec. 7.

The holiday hype surrounding Andor will also build anticipation for the season finale, which will premiere Nov. 23.

Created by Tony Gilroy, the series currently streams on Disney+ and takes place before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The show follows Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) journey to joining the Rebellion Alliance.

The streamer writes, “It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”

Despite wavering success of the first season, which reportedly pulled in less than stellar viewership numbers, the series is already set for a 12-episode second season, which will begin filming later this month.

Today’s Star Wars news follows Disney+ releasing a surprise animated short, titled Zen – Grogu and Dust Bunnies, on Nov. 12. The short was a collaboration with Studio Ghibli and features direction by Katsuya Kondo and music by Ludwig Göransson.

Andor’s arrival on other platforms will signify a first for Disney+’s ever-growing Star Wars content, which also includes Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett and Tales of the Jedi.
