The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has ruled Lindsey Pearlman’s cause of death was suicide caused by sodium nitrite toxicity. In February, the Selena: The Series actress was found dead inside a vehicle near the entrance to Runyon Canyon Park in California, per reports obtained by People.

According to the outlet, the autopsy also found, “the presence of non-toxic levels of lorazepam, metoclopramide, and codeine” in her system.

Lindsey was first reported missing on Feb. 13. Her cousin, Savannah Pearlman, tweeted on Feb. 17 that her “phone last pinged on Sunset blvd,” adding that the family was offering a reward if someone found her.

On Feb. 18, the actress was found dead inside her car near the hiking trails and one day later, Savannah took to the platform again to promote the National Suicide Hotline — 1-800-273-8255, writing, “Please know that you are never truly alone.”

Following the discovery of her body, Lindsey’s representative, Michael Chiaverini, released a statement, per People.

“We are deeply saddened by Lindsey Pearlman’s passing today,” he said. “The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time while they process and grieve.”

Her husband, Vance Smith, confirmed the actress’ death in a since-deleted Instagram post, captioning, “The police found Lindsey. She’s gone. I’m broken.”

Lindsey had a recurring role in the ABC soap opera General Hospital as Margaret “Maggie” McMorris in 2020. Prior to that gig, she had made appearances on the Fox musical drama Empirethe NBC legal drama series Chicago Justiceand the ABC sitcom American Housewife.

She also appeared on a couple of streaming shows including Netflix’s Selena: The Series as Diane Warren and Amazon Prime’s Sneaky Pete.
