ESPN’s hotly anticipated Derek Jeter documentary, The Captain, is an absolute must-stream for baseball fans. Directed by Randy Wilkins, the seven-episode docuseries explores the life and Hall of Fame career of the iconic Yankees shortstop. Featuring candid interviews with Jeter’s family, teammates, and rivals (and obviously the man himself), the series is filled with interesting anecdotes about Jeter’s career, his relationship with Alex Rodriguez, and, as previously reported, the infamous gift baskets rumor.

“We set out on a journey to discover the man behind the iconic Yankees number 2 jersey,” Wilkins said in a statement. “The series gives insight into a hall of fame baseball career, but more importantly, we reveal a person who sits at multiple intersections of American culture. The first episode of The Captain premieres Monday, July 18 on ESPN and ESPN+ at 10:00 p.m. ET (after the Home Run Derby).
