New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Westworld Season 4, The Man From Toronto, Loot, Chloe + More

Are you in the mood for a comedy to distract you from the real world? The Man From Toronto, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, is out this weekend on Netflix, and they might just be your new favorite mismatched buddy action stars. In the film Hart stars as a guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and gets mistaken for Harrelson’s character, a brutal assassin. And in keeping with the theme of mistaken identities, Amazon Prime Video’s Chloe, starring Erin Doherty, is a thriller about a young woman’s social media obsession with a woman who mysteriously dies. In Maya Rudolph’s new show Loot on Apple TV+, she plays a billionaire who decides to actually do something good with her money and her life. And finally there’s the long-awaited, hotly anticipated fourth season premiere of HBO’s Westworld, where our favorite robots with feelings are back and they’re hitting up New York City.

New on HBO Max June 26: Westworld Season 4

When we last saw Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) on Westworld, she was…well, dead. Dolores, one of the robots from the titular Westworld theme park, had her mind erased, so the character we’ve spent the last three seasons appears to be gone, but since she’s still very much on the show and traipsing around New York City, we’re excited to see exactly how the show has given her a new identity. Season 4 will also see the return of Thandiwe Newton as Maeve, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale, and Aaron Paul as Caleb Nichols, and introduces us to new characters played by Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, as well as Aurora Perrineau and Daniel Wu.

New on Netflix June 24: The Man From Toronto

There are plenty of shows and movies out there about assassins but The Man From Toronto is the first one we’ve seen where the assassin (Woody Harrelson) undergoes a case of mistaken identity all because of an AirBnB mixup. (Four stars, did not look like the pictures!) When Teddy (Kevin Hart) shows up to what he thinks is his AirBnB rental, he’s mistaken for the Man from Toronto, an assassin and torture expert who was called to the same location in order to retrieve some very sensitive information from a man being held hostage. Teddy plays the part in order to save his own life, but eventually, the FBI picks him up when they believe him to be the actual Man from Toronto. Eventually Teddy and the real Man from Toronto team up, and the end result is a classic buddy flick that’s the perfect summer comedy.

New on Apple TV+ June 24: Loot

Maya Rudolph excels at playing outlandish characters who care. While many of her projects, from Big Mouth to Idiocracy to The Good Place, have her existing is a weird, out of the ordinary universe, her characters tend to somehow add heart and soul to an otherwise bizarro world. In Loot, Rudolph plays a billionaire named Molly Novak whose recent divorce sends her into a public downward spiral, so she turns her energy instead to her charitable foundation where she and her hilarious colleagues, played by Joel Kim Booster and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, set out to redeem her.

New on Amazon Prime Video June 24: Chloe

Erin Doherty is one of the supporting actors on Netflix’s The Crown, she was unforgettable in her portrayal of Princess Anne who is, let’s be real, the most grounded of Elizabeth and Phillip’s children. In Chloe, Doherty takes all of those instincts she used to ground Anne in reality and funnels them into a much less stable character, a woman named Becky who becomes obsessed with a woman she knows from social media named Chloe who seems to live a beautiful, charmed life. When Chloe suddenly dies, Becky infiltrates her world to get a taste of the good life, and to figure out the mysterious circumstances of Chloe’s death.
