It takes a lot of courage to admit you may be wrong, and that is what Workin’ Moms Season 6 is all about. For the past several seasons, Catherine Reitman’s comedy has argued that, yes, moms can do it all. It may cost them their sanity and involve a lot of swearing, but it’s possible. In contrast, Season 6 scaled that optimistic lesson back a bit to question when is “doing it all” truly too much?

It’s a stressful installment full of cheating, heartbreak, pushed limits, and a new step kid that never forgets to be funny. Need a guide to how this installment ends? We have you covered.

How Does Season 6 End for Jenny?

Once again, the truth caught up to Jenny (Jessalyn Wanlim), but this time another man was involved. Jenny and MCP (Alex Mallari Jr.) always had a contentious relationship filled with insults and half-truths. That was pushed into overdrive when Jenny faked a pregnancy so that she could trick MCP into marrying her. But it wasn’t long before Jenny’s lies became reality. When MCP took her to get an ultrasound after suspecting that she was lying, they learned that Jenny was indeed pregnant.

MCP promised that he would marry her and raise the kid, but only for the child. That intense vow is what sparked another lie. When Jenny miscarried, she refused to tell him, fearing losing the baby would mean that she would also lose her future husband. Eventually, Jenny relented and allowed MCP to surprise her. He promised to stay with her and get married, baby or not. That’s when Jenny shocked us all.

While in a meeting with HR, Jenny dramatically revealed that there wouldn’t be a wedding. She explained that she eventually wants to be a better version of herself, and she can’t do that with a partner who calls her “butt plug” all the time. Season 6 ended with Jenny dropping both her job and her man while cashing in on Goldie’s (Jayne Eastwood) MLM. If anyone can make a pyramid scheme about all natural products work, it’s her.

What Happened to Sloane?

Remember back in Season 5 when Kate (Catherine Reitman) told her publisher client Sloane (Enuka Okuma) that if she moved some meetings around, she could make time to be a mother? Sloane sure did. This season, she tried her hand at being a mom herself and even found love thanks to her ultrasound technician.

All of it was an uphill battle. Sloane passed out in the middle of a meeting due to a pregnancy-induced iron deficiency, and when her nursing hookup told her he loved her, she broke up with him. But eventually Sloane accepted that she needed to let go of some things in her present to make room for her future. Season 6 ended with Sloane cuddling her newborn baby and smiling at her boyfriend before jumping on a virtual meeting. She’s still probably juggling too much, but hey, it’s progress.

Are Kate and Anne OK?

Speaking of progress, that was the theme of Kate and Anne’s (Dani Kind) friendship this season. While everyone around her was telling Kate that she needed to scale back so she could be a better mother and a boss, Anne was on Kate’s most neurotic side, encouraging her to do it all. Meanwhile, as Anne’s intensity drove her husband and daughter away, Kate insisted that her best friend shouldn’t have to change anything. Though all of this sounded good on the surface, it was terrible advice in practice. That’s what led to the most heartbreaking moment in this sweet series.

In “The Scary Things”, Kate and Anne broke up. The saddest thing about this friendship ending was that it actually improved their lives. Without Anne encouraging her worst impulses, Kate was able to step back and let her employees take on work that would typically overwhelm her. That distance also allowed her to be more present for her husband, kids, and new stepson. It was a step back that was rewarded. By the end of the season, Nathan Jr. decided to live with Nathan (Philip Sternberg) and Kate rather than his unstable aunt.

As for Anne, living without Kate’s constant pep talks gave her the humility to restart anger management. As a result, watching his wife actually try to be a better person gave Lionel (Ryan Belleville) the confidence he needed about their relationship. It also made Anne seem less intimidating to her ever-rebellious daughter.

Though they’re thriving in their new lives, “Grow If You Want” proves that it all feels a bit hollow. After spending time apart, Kate ended the season by calling Anne, who reluctantly answers. Nervously, Kate wondered if they can resume their friendship and asked “Do you think it’s possible that we grow together?” Anne agreed. Kate and Anne are officially friends again. Thank god for that because right after they make up, Workin’ Moms jumps to one of the most stressful cliffhangers in the history of this series.

How Did Workin’ Moms Season 6 End?

Before we get to that cliffhanger, we need to back up a bit to talk about Anne. Early in this season, Anne’s daughter Alice (Sadie Munroe) started working as Anne’s secretary. That’s when this mother-daughter pair learned something that shocked them both. Alice was a naturally great therapist who was possibly better than her mother. Alice’s talent paired with her never-ending urge to infuriate her mother led to her taking some of her mother’s clients. And that’s how we got Heather (Martha Girvin).

Heather unofficially became Alice’s client. That crosses several ethical and professional lines, but Heather crossed one more when she stalked Alice at her high school. Anne caught wind of what Heather was doing and slammed her into a car, threatening that if Heather ever approached her family again, she would kill her. Go mama bear, right? Well…

In the final moments of “Grow If You Want”, Kate and Anne make up right before Anne sees Heather sitting in a car, staring her down. We can hear a car engine revving and the phone call cuts short, but we don’t see what happens next. It seems as though the unhinged Heather has run down our wonderful, fiery Anne. Where’s Season 7 when you need it?
