Eurovision Song Contest 2022 To Stream In The U.S. Live on Peacock

For many Americans, our familiarity with Eurovision is the knowledge we gleaned from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga, the 2020 film starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. But for the entirety of Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest is a decades-long tradition where a performer or group representing each country (as well as from Australia and Israel) performs a song which is voted on by the public, making it the world’s largest annual song contest. Past winning performers have included Celine Dion in 1988, and ABBA in 1974. This year, the multi-day contest will be broadcast in the U.S. exclusively on Peacock.

Eurovision kicks off on Tuesday, May 10, and the performances will be made available to stream live on Peacock starting at at 3PM ET in the U.S. Performances will also be made available for on-demand viewing. This is the second year in a row that Peacock has the rights to exclusively stream the song contest.

This year’s host for the U.S. stream will be Olympian and NBC Sports analyst Johnny Weir, who has a reputation for dramatic performances and bold fashion, two traits that Eurovision also embraces. The live schedule of performances on Peacock is as follows: the first Eurovision semi-final will air Tuesday, May 10 at 3PM ET, the second semi-final airs Thursday, May 12 at 3PM ET, and the Grand Final is Saturday, May 14 at 3PM ET.

Eurovision typically takes place annually in the country that won the previous edition. Last year’s winners, Måneskin, hailed from Italy, and this year’s performances are being held in Turin at the PalaOlimpico which was also host to the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
