Helena Bonham Carter Is In Mourning in ‘Ten Percent’ Exclusive Clip

Ten Percent, the British spin on Netflix‘s popular French comedy Call My Agent, is about to debut its very first season. The series, which takes place in Nightingale Hart, a small talent agency in London, follows its employees and talent as they navigate a rapidly transforming industry.

Ahead of the two-episode premiere of Ten Percent, Decider has an exclusive look at the second episode, which features Helena Bonham Carter as herself. In the sneak peek, Carter sits down for an emotional meeting with Jonathan Nightingale (Jack Davenport), a Nightingale Hart agent.

The clip opens with Helena in mourning, covering her face with her hands as she sits opposite Jonathan. As she apologizes, he reaches for some tissues and she tells him, “I can’t believe it. I can’t believe he’s not here.”

Much like Call My AgentTen Percent begins with a death; Jonathan’s father and agency founder Richard Nightingale (Jim Broadbent) dies, leaving the company in a dire financial situation.

Jonathan asks Helena, “What did you two talk about, when you had your lunches?” to which she replies, “Anything, really. Anything and everything. That was what was so great.” But when she dives into specifics, he quickly gets lost.

“He used to ask me about Molly a lot,” she tells him, and when Jonathan asks, “Molly?” she says, “Yes, you knew he was her godfather,” but Jonathan tells her, “No, I don’t think I did know that.”

Their conversation only becomes more confusing for Jonathan, who is stumped when Helena says, “But today, I’d have been asking him about shimmy.” When she asks, “Did you know about that?” Jonathan only lets out a small sigh of exasperation.

After his meeting with Helena comes to a close, Jonathan has another fire to put out in the office with his fellow agent Rebecca (Lydia Leonard) as they deal with a surprise visit from client Olivia Williams.

Carter isn’t the only star to make a cameo in Ten Percent. The series also features Kelly Macdonald, Dominic West, Phoebe Dynevor, Jessica Oyelowo, David Oyelowo, Emma Corrin, Himesh Patel, Clemence Poesy and David Harewood.

The first two episodes of Ten Percent premiere Friday on Sundance Now and AMC+. New episodes of Ten Percent will premiere weekly on Fridays. An encore airing of the premiere will air Sunday night on BBC America.
