Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway Crash WeWork in Apple’s First ‘WeCrashed’ Trailer

WeWork is getting the prestige TV treatment, and it’s all thanks to Apple TV+. Today the streaming service dropped the first teaser trailer for its upcoming limited series, WeCrashed, which will cover the meteoric rise and fall of WeWork, the real estate company Silicon Valley used to love. You know what that means? We can finally see Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway’s take on this hustling power couple.

From a business perspective,WeWork is a fascinating story. But the real draw is Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway’s casting. Leto will star as WeWork’s co-founder Adam Neumann, a figure who has always been difficult to understand. The way he’s been portrayed in the media, the real Neumann was obsessed with optimization, disruption, and company loyalty, yet he would routinely cast those values aside, investing in ideas that never seemed to make complete sense and failing to warn his employees about the collapse that was to come. Hathaway will star as Neumann’s wife, Rebekah, a businesswoman and aspiring wellness guru of sorts. It was her idea to create WeGrow, a private school system part of The We Company. She’s also related to Gwyneth Paltrow. Leto has made a career out of portraying slightly unhinged men who could either be visionaries or conmen, and Hathaway has always nailed the strict overachiever vibe. You can’t ask for a better Adam and Rebekah.

In addition to Leto and Hathaway, WeCrashed stars Kyle Marvin, America Ferrera, and O-T Fagbenle. The limited series is created by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello, who also serve as co-writers, executive producers, and showrunners. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra will direct and executive produce alongside Charlie Gogolak, Hathaway, Natalie Sandy, Leto, Emma Ludbroo, Hernan Lopez, Marshall Lewy, and Aaron Hart.

So what exactly is the WeWork story? WeCrashed is based on the Wondery podcast of the same name, WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork from Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello. In 2010, the co-working space WeWork was founded, and it quickly became a tech industry darling. At the height of its power, WeWork was a global brand worth $47 billion, a status it achieved in less than a decade. Then, in less than a year, its value plummeted. This limited series will explore exactly what happened.

It all starts on Friday, March 18. That’s when Apple TV+ will drop the first three episodes of this eight-episode series, which is expected to run through April 22. Get ready for some Silicon Valley scandal, because it’s coming to you hot.
