‘Manifest’: Netflix Officially Begins Production on Season 4

After five months of hanging in limbo, Manifest is back in action. Creator Jeff Rake shared a photo from the set on Twitter today, a sign that calls to #SaveManifest were a success. The series, which has moved from NBC to Netflix, will pick up for a fourth and final season on the streaming giant after it was canceled earlier this year.

“AND WE’RE BACK!” Rake tweeted with a photo from the set, adding the #Manifest tag to his post.

While official casting hasn’t been announced quite yet, we can expect to see most of the power players like Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas and Daryl Edwards — who have all confirmed their involvement via Twitter — back for Season 4 of the plane drama. A few days before the official pick-up was announced, Manifest cast and writers were rehired for a continuation at Netflix. There wasn’t, however, any news as to which other folks Season 4 would include.

Manifest was hanging in limbo for quite a bit after its third season premiered on NBC. In June, the show was officially canceled by NBC, right after the show’s first two seasons hit Netflix. After hopping to the top of the streamer’s daily Top 10 Movies and Shows list, Netflix was rumored to be looking to pick up Season 4 of the series. But hopes came crashing down when they announced they had passed on the show.

In early August, however, news surrounding Manifest ramped up all over again. NBC dropped out of the running to revive Manifest, leaving Netflix at the table for discussion. On Aug. 28, Manifest was officially picked up for a fourth and final season over on Netflix. The upcoming season is set to be the show’s longest yet, with a whopping 20 episodes in store (in comparison to 13 in Seasons 2 and 3).

Stay tuned for a release date, trailer, and more casting announcements for Manifest‘s fourth and final season on Netflix.
