Woman Crush Wednesday: Get to Know ‘The Last O.G.’ Actress Taylor Mosby

Somehow here we are, already in the last week of October (which is definitely worth a boo-hoo or two). Luckily, before we jump ahead to November, we have one last Woman Crush Wednesday to get your heart pounding more than even the scariest Halloween movie or costume.  To cap off this month, we’re celebrating a scarily talented actress, singer, dancer, and musician (seriously, what CAN’T she do?!) who has already been acting professionally for nearly a decade, but who is still so young, vibrant, and full of untapped potential (which is saying something, because she’s already accomplished some pretty sweet stuff). She’s going to be a big star so make sure to remember her name as you give it up for her, your WCW, the terrific Taylor Mosby!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Taylor Mosby

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Mosby reprises her role as Amira Birkeland in the fourth season of TBS Original series The Last O.G., which premiered on the channel last night on October 26th (and can now be found on the TBS website). The sitcom follows a convict (Tracy Morgan) released from prison after serving 15 years, who then comes back to Brooklyn only to find his old stomping grounds gentrified and his ex-girlfriend (Tiffany Haddish) raising their children (Mosby and Dante Hoagland) with another man (Ryan Gaul). Morgan, Gaul, Mosby, and Haogland all return for the show’s fourth season, which continues to follow Morgan’s Tray Leviticus Barker as he endeavors to become a better father and man, and to recover from the damage done at the end of Season 3, all-the-while watching out for his twins, who are now high school graduates and becoming more adult by the day. Catch Mosby and the rest of the cast’s awesome work in the hilarious and heartfelt fourth season of The Last O.G., ASAP.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Mosby’s professional onscreen career began in 2012 when she played a student in family short film Palms. Just one year later, the actress had her feature film debut, playing Shauna in the 2013 comedy Cleaver Family Reunion, opening the door to gaining more work in shows like The MiddleTwisted, and About a Boy all through 2014. From there, Mosby racked up recurring roles in shows like Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & DawnCriminal Minds, and one-episode appearances in other series like Adam Ruins EverythingLife In PiecesSnowfall, and Grey’s Anatomy.

Within the last few years, Mosby has only continued to flourish and grow, shining in titles like 2019 music short film Love is the Only River, 2019 feature-length biographical drama film Breakthrough, mystery drama series A Girl Named Jo, and 2021 action-adventure comedy film Thunder Force. Clearly, Mosby is a young actress who had already found plenty of success in her burgeoning entertainment career, and we couldn’t be more excited to see all of the incredible things she is sure to star in and accomplish in the years to come.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: While we’re not sure what next role-wise for Mosby at the moment, you can at least keep up to date with the latest from the actress by following her on Instagram and Facebook. Be sure to look out for more from this week’s world-class WCW, Taylor Mosby!
