‘Night Teeth’ on Netflix: That Convoluted Ending, Explained

Every week during the month of October, Netflix releases a new original horror movie. This week that movie is Night Teeth, a vampire horror thriller starring Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry as vampires, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as the poor human sap who gets caught up in their vampire schemes.

Directed by Adam Randall, with a screenplay by Brent Dillon, Night Teeth—like most movies about vampires—comes with its own vampire lore. But it’s hard to squeeze all of that background into a movie that is less than two hours. Unfortunately, the result is that Night Teeth is convoluted and confusing at times. (There is also far too little screentime for Megan Fox.)

WHAT IS THE NIGHT TEETH PLOT SUMMARY?

Benny (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.) is a college student who one night decides to make some extra cash by filling in for his brother, Jay (Raúl Castillo) as a professional chauffeur. But little does Benny know, the reason his brother Jay can’t work is that Jay is a vampire hunter, and there’s been suspicious vampire activity in their neighborhood, Boyle Heights. Namely, the vampires have broken the truce and are killing humans.

Benny has no idea any of this is happening, and he’s impersonating Jay in order to do his job. So when he picks up two beautiful women named Blaire (Debby Ryan) and Zoe (Lucy Fry), they think he is Jay the vampire hunter, and that they need to deliver him to their boss, Victor (Alfie Allen). Meanwhile, Benny thinks that Blaire and Zoe are human women who just want to be driven to a bunch of parties.

Both groups quickly realize they are wrong. Benny ends up as Blaire and Zoe’s prisoners, driving them to various places around Los Angeles to kill other vampires. Blaire and Zoe’s boss Victor has been systematically killing the vampires in town, paving the way for him to take over the vampire mafia.

Of course, Benny doesn’t really have a stake (pun intended) in these wars. But he does think that Blaire is pretty cute… for a vampire. But, several vampire fights later, Benny learns that the evil Victor has his brother Jay, and he decides to be a hero.

WHAT IS THE NIGHT TEETH ENDING EXPLAINED?

Blaire tells Benny not to follow her into Victor’s home, insisting that he will die. Benny, who wants to save Jay, follows her anyhow, armed with a bat. He finds a room full of humans trapped inside glass cages with tubes pumping their blood out. Jay is one of those humans.

Before Benny can break Jay out, Victor discovers him. Benny tells Victor to take him instead of Jay, but Victor decides to kill Benny, instead. Zoe is more than ready to kill Benny, but Blaire tries to protect him. As a result, Zoe stabs Blaire. Just as Victor and Zoe are about to kill Blaire for good, Benny uses his key fob to turn on his car.

We see that Benny put a rock on the gas pedal, and the car comes crashing through the front wall, letting in the bright sunlight from outside. The sunlight immediately burns up Zoe. Then Benny fights Victor, and Victor gets a bite out of Benny. Jay joins the fight and tackles Victor into the sunlight, burning him up, too. The evil vampires have been defeated!

But wait, Benny is about to die of his vampire bite! Not so fast. Blaire lets Benny suck her blood, and then she sucks his blood—completing the ritual needed to turn Benny into a vampire.

In the last scene of the movie, Benny wakes up as the sun is going down, and avoids touching the sunlight in his room. He meets up with Jay for tacos, who tells him that the whole world has changed. “Everyone is going to have to pick a side,” Jay says. “Don’t forget where you came from.”

The final shot shows Benny being picked up by Blaire in a slick car, presumably to go drink some blood. And with that, the movie ends.

So there you have it! Benny is a vampire now with a vampire girlfriend, his brother is a vampire slayer. Who wants a sequel?
