‘Cops’ To Return For Season 33 on Fox Nation

After a short stint off the air, Cops is making its return. FOX Nation has greenlit the reality series today, announcing that Season 33 will premiere this October on the streaming service. The news comes just over a year after Paramount Network canceled the show following nationwide protests against police brutality.

As FOX Nation relaunches Cops, the streamer will also offer all first responders a free year of subscription to the service. Starting today, police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and paramedics can stream for free.

The streamer has also committed to donating $5 to Answer the Call on behalf of each new subscriber this week, ending on Sept. 20. TFOX nation will donate up to $50,000 to the nonprofit organization, which “provides financial support to the families of New York City first responders killed in the line of duty.”

COPS is one of the most iconic brands on television with an incredibly passionate fan base,” Jason Klarman, president of FOX Nation, said in a statement. “We wanted to show our appreciation to all first responders by combining the launch with a free one-year subscription to give back in a small way to those who place their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.”

Back in June 2020, Paramount Network pulled the release of Cops Season 33 alongside A&E as they pulled Live PD from programming. The controversial program first began on Fox back in 1989, and has been criticized in recent years for its portrayal of police and questionable behind-the-scenes tactics.

Cops will debut Season 33 to FOX Nation on Oct. 1, with the first four episodes dropping on that day. New installments will arrive weekly on the platform on Friday nights.
