The ‘Twilight’ Movies Are Now on Netflix, So There Goes Your Weekend

Are you ready to relive the fever dream that was the 2008 Twilight movie? Well, you’re in luck, because all five Twilight movies are now streaming on Netflix.

If you were a middle school girl in the late aughts, you either read Stephenie Meyer’s wildly popular vampire romance novel Twilight, or you consciously chose not to read it. But the first Twilight movie, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, took this steamy story to a whole new level. Robert Pattinson stars as Edward Cullen, the sexy, sparkly, 108-year-old vampire who, for whatever reason, decides to spend his immortal years at a public high school in Forks, Washington. And Kristen Stewart stars as the human high school student named Bella that Edward falls in love with.

There are too many iconic moments in that first movie to count. When Edward practically vomits in biology class because Bella smells so appetizing. When Edward calls Bella a “spider monkey.” (???) When the vampires play a game of super vampire baseball to the tune of Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole.” The fact that very famous actor Anna Kendrick has an extremely minor role as Bella’s friend Jessica. The list goes on and on.

No matter how weird the movie may seem now, it’s important to remember that it was extremely successful at the time of its release. Pattinson and Stewart—who were at one point engaged in real life, possibly as a publicity stunt—both rocketed to stardom. And of course, you can’t forget Taylor Lautner, who plays Bella’s other love interest, the sexy werewolf named Jacob. The film, which grossed $393 million worldwide, paved the way for four sequels based on the subsequent books: The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

All five of those films are now streaming on Netflix, so there’s no need to make additional plans for the weekend. Get streaming!
