10 Best New Shows on Netflix: July 2021’s Top Upcoming Series to Watch

When the list of new releases on Netflix comes out every month, it sometimes feels like the leading streamer has opened up a firehose of content of all types: scripted, unscripted, international, and more. With everyone’s limited time, it’s hard to figure out which shows you want to sit down and binge.

The crew at Decider know how tough it is to figure what to watch… and we do this for a living. So let us be your guide. Below are quick previews of what we think the ten hottest, most intriguing series to debut on the service in July 2021 will be. They aren’t all Netflix Originals (though most are because of that firehose); just shows we know people will want to watch. Which shows will make it into the Netflix Top 10? Only time will tell!

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17

ELLEN POMPEO

PREMIERE DATE: July 1
CAST: Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Jessie Williams, Kim Raver
RATING: TV-14
DESCRIPTION: The just-ended season of the ABC stalwart hits Netflix, and it’s your chance to binge the only show that seemed to take COVID seriously. How seriously? Meredith (Pompeo) herself caught it and spent most of the season laid up at Seattle Grace, going in and out of consciousness. Among the dreams she had was one with the late Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), which sent hearts aflutter all over the interwebs.

PREMIERE DATE: July 6
CAST: Tim Robinson
RATING: TV-MA
DESCRIPTION: I didn’t love the first season of Tim Robinson’s sketch series, boasting a bevy of guest stars, but other critics loved it, and Robinson’s fans on Twitter gave me the business for panning it (well, at least one of this fans did). But Robinson’s back with more sketches that demonstrate people being uncomfortable or doing cringeworthy things.
