Like a ninja, Netflix Film Security slipped onto the platform silently this week and has suddenly taken it by storm. People spotting the movie on the service may be inclined to wonder what it’s about, who is in the cast, if there’s a trailer, and if it’s an exclusive premiere or merely an older film that is only just being circulated now.

What is Security About?
Security is an Italian mystery thriller film based on and adapted from American author Stephen Amidon’s 2010 crime thriller fiction novel of the same name. The movie, which exclusively premiered on Netflix this past Wednesday (on June 16th) as an Original Film from the platform, tells the story of an incident that disrupts the lives of its characters and changes them forever.
A girl accuses one of her seemingly idyllic town’s wealthiest residents of rape and violence, but faces doubt in the face of the police due to their knowledge of and prior experience with her father, a man who had been arrested for pedophilia. What soon forms is a tangled web of mysteries, deceit, and drama that is left to be untangled by the town’s head of security, who attempts to use his access to the area’s surveillance systems to get to the bottom of everyone’s secrets.
Security forces us to ask ourselves about the price of security when the horror is coming from our own homes and neighborhoods, and ensnares us in an utterly compelling and unpredictable tale from beginning to end.
Who’s in the Cast of Security?
While Security is an Italian film, there are still plenty of faces you may recognize in this movie helmed by British director Peter Chelsom, whose filmography includes Serendipity, Shall We Dance?, Hector and the Search for Happiness, and The Space Between Us. The film is led by Marco D’Amore (Gomorrah, The Immortal), Maya Sansa (Dormant Beauty, Good Morning, Night), and Valeria Bilello (Sense8, Made In Italy). Security also features Silvio Muccino, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Tommaso Ragno, Antonio Zavatteri, and Beatrice Grannò.
Is There a Trailer for Security?
Yes! So far, this is the only trailer that we could find for the Italian thriller. Give it a look so you can make sure you’ve found the right film, or else you may end up accidentally watching the 2017 action crime thriller film of the same name (led by Antonio Banderas).
Security‘s trailer (which is in English dub, though the film can be watched on Netflix in a myriad of languages, in addition to its original Italian) premiered on the MVSRS YouTube channel on June 3rd, and has steadily accumulated over 68,000 views. We have no doubt that that number will only continue to climb as more people bare witness to this month’s latest streaming sleeper hit.
