‘The Morning Show’ Season 2: Jennifer Aniston And Reese Witherspoon Are Back in First Teaser Trailer

Get some coffee ready — The Morning Show is back. Apple TV+ debuted a first look teaser and release date for Season 2 of the Emmy-winning TV show this morning, and things are heating up in the newsroom all over again. The second season, which will pick up right after the station’s wreckage in the Season 1 finale, is set to release on Sept. 17 on Apple TV+.

The sophomore season of the hit drama will follow in the wake of Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley’s (Reese Witherspoon) explosive actions against UBA and a new media landscape, “where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play.” Along with Aniston and Witherspoon, key players like Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, and Mark Duplass.

Other returning stars include Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin, and Marcia Gay Harden. A few new faces will join the cast for Season 2, including Greta Lee as Stella Bak, a young tech executive at UBA; Ruairi O’Conner as YouTube star Ty Fitzgerald; and Hasan Minhaj as Eric Nomani, a new Morning Show team member. Emmy Award-winner Julianna Margulies debuted her first look as Laura Peterson, a UBA news anchor. Other new stars include Tara Karsian, Valeria Golino, and Holland Taylor.

The new teaser for The Morning Show Season 2 sees Alex leaving her famous anchor seat and all of the gossip surrounding UBA. We get a sneak peek at her potential replacement, played by Minhaj, who enters the newsroom with Bradley. On top of that drama, it’s also 2020 — meaning The Morning show is about to cover the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. The team seems to have their work cut out for them this season.

The series is developed by Kerry Ehrin, who serves as showrunner and is an executive producer alongside Aniston, Witherspoon, Michael Ellenberg, Kristin Hahn, Lauren Neustadter, and Mimi Leder, who also directs several episodes.

The 10-episode season will debut its first episode on Friday, Sept. 17, with new episodes set to debut weekly on Fridays. Scroll up to watch the first teaser for Season 2 of The Morning Show.
