Awake, a new thriller from director Mark Raso, stars Gina Rodriguez as an ex-soldier who is trying to navigate a post-apocalyptic world. But this isn’t any old post-apocalyptic world—this is a world after a global event wipes out all technology and takes away human’s ability to sleep.
If you’ve ever gone to work while sleep-deprived, you know how vital those hours of REM are to function, and how quickly things get weird. It’s a race against time for Rodriguez to find the cure, but she’s not in this alone—she’s joined by her co-stars including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Barry Pepper, Finn Jones, Shamier Anderson, and Ariana Greenblatt, who plays Rodriguez’s on-screen daughter.
