Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Kid Cudi Set As Performers for Amazon’s Prime Day Show

Prime Day certainly isn’t a lost cause — Amazon announced today that they’re partnering with artists Billie Eilish, H.E.R., and Kid Cudi to star in the Prime Day Show. The three-part musical event will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting on June 17 and will be available to stream for 30 days on the platform, with or without a Prime Membership.

“Working with Billie Eilish, H.E.R., and Kid Cudi to bring their music to life through these imaginative experiences has been incredible,” said VP of Music Industry at Amazon Music Ryan Redington in a statement. “Watching these globally renowned artists create three shows from the depths of their imagination has been unlike anything we’ve ever done before. We’re thrilled to bring fans along with us to celebrate these three remarkable artists and Prime Day.”

The digital event will invite audiences to three half-hour-long cinematic performances from each award-winning artist. Per Amazon, audiences “will be treated to three unique experiences that fuse performance and storytelling, transporting fans to worlds inspired by Paris, The Dunbar Hotel, and outer space.”

“These iconic artists have not only broken new ground in music but are inspired storytellers, culture creators, and visionaries,” said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios. “We’re thrilled to partner with Billie, H.E.R., and Cudi to bring these authentic and deeply personal specials to fans around the world as we celebrate Prime Day.”

Eilish will take to Paris for her special, bringing a timeless French neighborhood to life with a handful of performances. Set in the birthplace of cinema, the short will be directed by Eilish herself alongside Sam Wrench. The short will feature music from the Grammy-award-winning artist’s upcoming album, Happier Than Ever.

Next up is H.E.R., who recently won an Oscar for her song “Fight For You” in Judas and the Black Messiah. The artist will perform at her vision of the Dunbar Hotel in the special, known for being the hub of Los Angeles Black culture in the 1930s and 40s, having hosted Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and other huge musicians. H.E.R. will imagine what the hotel would look like in 2021, featuring new music from her album Back Of My Mind.

Lastly, Kid Cudi will leave Earth to establish a new community on the moon in his special. The short will feature music from his album Man on the Moon III, and he’ll collaborate with the International Space Orchestra — the world’s first orchestra composed of scientists from NASA and other space institutes.

Starting today, Amazon users can listen to the Prime Day Show playlist. Mark your calendars: the show begins in just two short weeks.
