May the Fourth: Every Star Wars Movie, Show, Special, And More Streaming on Disney+

Whether you remember standing in line to see Star Wars back in the summer of ’77 or for the opening of The Phantom Menace in 1999, or if you got into the franchise via VHS tapes, cable reruns, DVDs, Blu-rays, or even via Disney+, we can all agree that the movies are the main course of any Star Wars celebration. Fortunately for all of us, Disney+ is home to all 12 theatrically released feature films in the Star Wars franchise—and that’s just the beginning. If you’re looking for a fun one to revisit, might I suggest Solo: A Star Wars Story? It’s a standalone film and definitely a lot more fun than you remember. It is past due for reevaluation!

If you really want to cover a lot of ground via a marathon, you can skip the movies and just start housing episodes of the various Star Wars TV shows. Disney+’s offerings include a bunch of kid-friendly LEGO Star Wars series, as well as the incredibly influential and long-running Star Wars: The Clone Wars. And today’s May the Fourth celebrations include the launch of a new series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. But really, if you want to just go for the Star Wars-iest thing to ever Star Wars, you can’t go wrong with a Mandalorian binge. It’s the show that has references to even the most obscure Star Wars canon!

You wanna get weird? Let’s get weird. Disney+ is also home to a bunch of specials and Star Wars oddities that really defy classification. There’s the campy LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, if you’re feeling festive. There are also two new scenic experiences that take you through the worlds (Star Wars Biomes) and the vehicles (Star Wars Vehicle Flythroughs) of the saga. But weirdest of all have to be the two Ewok movies, which aired on TV in the mid ’80s. Back before Star Wars was a cultural juggernaut, weird little projects like these were allowed to exist in this universe! They are time capsules of a long, long time ago.

Don’t have a lot of time to spend on Star Wars today? Then these are the shorts you’re looking for. In addition to all the LEGO content, there’s also the female-driven Forces of Destiny series and a new Simpsons short starring Maggie. The real hidden gem here, though, is The Story of the Faithful Wookiee. That short originally aired as part of the infamous 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special and it introduced Boba Fett. Aside from being a hidden special feature on previous home video releases, this marks the first time that this special has been made easily accessible in any official capacity. Could the rest of the 1978 special be far behind?

Farm cast took a trip to Skywalker Ranch and Hannah Montana built a whole plot out of a Darth Vader potato chip. And then there’s the relentlessly delightful team-up between Mark Hamill and the Muppets, and the full-blown Phineas and Ferb crossover.

If you want May the Fourth to last for a week or two, you could just stream every single piece of Star Wars canon in chronological order. It helps that a lot of Star Wars content on Disney+ either was not made to be canon (the LEGO stuff) or has since been removed from canon (the 2D Clone Wars series). As it stands right now, here’s the Star Wars timeline in chronological order. And just in case you didn’t know, Star Wars measures time in reference to the Battle of Yavin (as seen in 1977’s Star Wars). So the dates are all before (BBY) or after (ABY) the Battle of Yavin, a.k.a. the destruction of the first Death Star.
