Anyone can be anyone on The Circle—and that apparently includes Lance Bass. This reveal in the Season 2 trailer was a major gag, and it really seemed like the Netflix competition show would be saying “Hi Hi Hi” to a beloved member of *NSYNC. But come on—would Lance Bass really have the time to drop in on a reality show, between all of his many professional endeavors? But then again, The Circle Season 2 filmed at the height of the global lockdown and already has one notable TV personality on it (Too Hot to Handle’s Chloe). Maybe a boy band icon really would log into the Circle…
Well, the first four episodes of The Circle Season 2 are now available to binge on Netflix, and they include the definitive answer to the question on everyone’s mind—is Lance Bass really on The Circle? SPOILERS AHEAD!
Is Lance Bass really on The Circle Season 2?
After the season’s very first blocking in Episode 2, the surviving players get an unexpected alert: a new player named Lance is entering the Circle. Many jaws drop—and, uh, the young’uns really show their age by having zero clue who Lance Bass is.
And then in Episode 3, we get the answer we’ve been waiting for: Lance Bass… is not on The Circle Season 2. But there’s a reason why someone’s catfishing as the only pop star to ever train to go into outer space (that we know of). The new player is actually Lisa, Lance Bass’s personal assistant. And she knows Lance very well considering she’s been by his side for well over a decade. If anyone’s gonna be able to fool *NSYNC superfans like Lee and Courtney, it’s gonna be Lisa.
While we’re not gonna see Lance fiddle with remote controlled cars or hang out in the hot tub between brutal rankings, we do get a little bit of Bass in this episode. Lance leaves a video message for Lisa, cheering her on now that she’s finally getting her time in the spotlight.
How will “Lance”/Lisa fare in The Circle? Will players get past being starstruck and be able to catch this catfish? And will Chloe and Jack ever figure out who Lance Bass is?! You’ll just have to stream Season 2 of The Circle on Netflix to find out.
