‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Fans Stunned as UK’s Sky Airs Sarah Jessica Parker Rom Com Instead

What do Zack Snyder’s Justice League and The Family Stone have in common? Well, they’re both about large, semi-dysfunctional families… and that’s about it. And yet, fans in the UK expecting to watch the Snyder Cut this morning were treated to a major surprise when Sky TV changed the schedule at the last minute and instead aired the 2005 romantic comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Carrie Bradshaw, welcome to the DC Comics-verse!

According to the IndependentZack Snyder’s Justice League was scheduled to debut on Sky Premiere at 7 a.m. GMT today, Thursday, March 18, to coincide with the film’s release on HBO Max in the United States. The news was met with excitement from fans, many of whom woke up early to check out the four-hour re-release of the 2017 superhero epic. However, when 7 a.m. rolled around, the credits played on an entirely different movie: The Family Stone, a 2005 rom com starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams, and Diane Keaton.

The Independent reports that the network made the last-minute scheduling change “without warning,” and as you can imagine, fans didn’t take kindly to the switch. “Why isn’t the Snyder Cut Justice league working on sky cinema?!!!!! Set it to record and the family stone is playing instead!!!!” wrote one disappointed viewer. “The Family Stone instead of Justice League is some sort of epic trolling,” said another.

In tweets posted throughout the morning, the Sky Help Team said that “due to a broadcast issue, Snyder Cut was replaced with other material.” However, they noted that the DC Comics film is currently available to download on demand or via the Sky Now streaming service. Zack Snyder’s Justice League will also be re-broadcast on Sky Premiere tonight at 8 p.m. GMT, so fans can catch it again then — assuming it doesn’t get swapped out for SJP’s Did You Hear About the Morgans?.
