Happy March, everyone! Can you believe this month marks one year of the insanity that has been this ongoing pandemic? Waitwaitwait — before you fall into a depression, let us remind you that we are getting closer and closer to #vaccinationnation; and while you patiently wait to get jabbed in the arm, your favorite streaming services are ready and eager to keep you entertained indoors all weekend long. Whether you’re sifting through options on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, hitting up the freshest titles on streaming is always the best way to start. But what are those titles? Here’s our take on what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Moxie, Boss Level, Coming 2 America and Raya and the Last Dragon
Much like the vials being delivered to vaccination centers around the country, your favorite streaming services are delivering high-quality content for you to explore. On Amazon Prime Video you can celebrate Eddie Murphy’s glorious return in Coming 2 America, while on Hulu you can catch the latest original action thriller starring Frank Grillo and Naomi Watts, Boss Level. If you are a Disney+ Premier Access user, be sure to turn on Raya and the Last Dragon, the amazing animated film that is worth the extra bucks to see. And while Netflix is perhaps slacking this Friday-Sunday, their teen comedy flick Moxie, which came out on Wednesday, is sure to monopolize everyone’s time. There are so many more great movies and shows like these available to check out this weekend. And to get started, check out some highlights from the great movies and shows now streaming we’ve listed below:
New on Netflix March 3: Moxie
It might not technically be new on Netflix this weekend, but the hottest new Netflix-original film is all we can talk about going into this weekend! Titled Moxie, the teen comedy film centers on a 16-year-old girl who, fed up with the sexist and toxic status quo ruling her high school, takes a page out of her mom’s book and anonymously publishes a zine, sparking a school-wide neofeminist coming-of-age revolution. Based on the Jennifer Mathieu acclaimed 2017 novel of the same name, Moxie is one of the top movies out on Netflix this month and is directed by Amy Poehler (Parks and Rec) and stars Hadley Robinson, Lauren Tsai, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Ike Barinholtz, and more.
New on Hulu March 5: Boss Level
New on Hulu this weekend is Boss Level, a sci-fi action film that takes the common ‘time loop’ trope to a whole other, conspiracy-filled level. It centers on Roy Pulver (Frank Grillo), a retired special forces soldier who finds himself trapped in a sinister program that has created a never-ending time loop leading to untimely death. But as the day plays over and over again, Pulver pieces together clues about a secret government project that could unlock the mystery behind his murder. Also starring Naomi Watts, Mel Gibson, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong, and more, Boss Level is a nail-biter of a flick that takes you to what its title suggests: the boss level.
New on Amazon Prime Video March 5: Coming 2 America
We have been waiting for 33 years to see King Akeem return to the screens again, and we are finally getting what we have desperately yearned for with the release of Coming 2 America on Amazon Prime Video this weekend. Murphy returns as King Akeem, the African monarch who tickled our funny bones in Coming to America. But this time, he leaves his country when he learns that he has a long-lost son in the United States and must embark to America to meet and connect with his unexpected heir. Featuring an all-star cast including Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, James Earl Jones, Tracy Morgan, and more, Coming 2 America is the comedy film we have anxiously been hoping to see and is finally here on Prime Video this weekend.

New on Disney+ March 5: Raya and the Last Dragon
New on Disney+ this weekend is Raya and the Last Dragon, the latest original animated film that will capture your hearts and imaginations for weeks to come. The story follows a young princess warrior named Raya (Kelly Marie Tran), who must travel across her divided world alongside the last dragon (Awkwafina) in order to stop the sinister monsters threatening their world and restore permanent peace and harmony to the land. If you like Avatar: The Last Airbender or just films about adventure, love and more, Raya and the Last Dragon is well worth the extra Premier Access fee to check out.
