Coming To America 2, aka Coming 2 America, is finally coming 2 Amazon Prime this week, and fans of Eddie Murphy have been waiting for this one.
It’s been 30 years since Prince Akeem Joffer (Murphy) and his best friend Semmi (Arsenio Hall) left the fictional African country of Zamunda and traveled to Queens, New York in 1988’s Coming To America. Now, after three peaceful decades of being happily married to the love his life, Lisa (Shari Headley), Akeem must once more travel back to America—this time in search of his long lost son, Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler).
Directed by Craig Brewer, with a script written by Kenya Barris, Barry W. Blaustein, and David Sheffield, Coming 2 America brings back all of the fan favorites, including the on-screen king James Earl Jones. But the film also introduces a new cast of characters alongside Fowler, including Leslie Jones and Tracy Morgan.
