The new reality series shows the lighter side of a pretty serious business as we see the day-to-day operations of R. Bernard Funeral Services in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s a job just like any other job—except it also involves caskets and hearses.

Ryan Bernard is the funeral director of R. Bernard Funeral Services—even if he did think going into the funeral biz wasn’t a good idea back in the day. Now R. Bernard is truly the family business, with three (soon to be four) generations of Bernards all working under the same roof.

Deja Bernard

Ryan’s oldest daughter Deja is following in her dad’s footsteps in her role as funeral director apprentice. She’s best friends with her younger sister Raegan, and has no problem with peaceing out when grandma Debbie gets in her business. Deja is also contributing another branch to the Bernard family tree as she’s expecting a baby of her own.

Raegan Bernard

Ryan’s youngest daughter Raegan pulls double duty by going to school and working as an office assistant. As if her schedule wasn’t already full, she also has to deal with her Uncle Kevin trying to show her ropes she definitely doesn’t want to climb (i.e.: picking up dead bodies and bringing them to the funeral home). Thankfully she always has her sister Deja on her side.

Uncle Kevin

Uncle Kevin is the charismatic, kooky cut-up of R. Bernard Funeral Services. When he’s not working as the facility manager, Kevin can be found working his second gig: “strictly pimpin’.” Always stylish, Kevin’s wardrobe is so loud it could wake the dead and make them say, “Where’d you get that suit?”

Debbie Bernard

Debbie Bernard is the one in charge, not just because she’s the office manager but because she’s the Bernard family’s no-nonsense matriarch. She never lets her son Ryan forget who’s boss, not when the cameras are rolling and not even when they’re on Instagram (check out her username).
