‘Black Mirror’ Creator Sets Mockumentary On 2020 at Netflix Featuring Hugh Grant

Who needs another season of Black Mirror when we’ve got 2020? Series creator Charlie Brooker plans on taking up the historic year as the topic of his next project, a mockumentary at Netflix, Deadline reports. The upcoming project, which is set to star Hugh Grant, has been kept tightly under wraps, but the actor leaked a few details today.

When asked in an interview with Vulture about what his next plans are after HBO’s The Undoing, Grant let it slip that he’s set to star Brooker’s 2020 project. “I’m doing a thing tomorrow, actually,” he shared. “Charlie Brooker has written a mockumentary about 2020. It’s for Netflix, and I am a historian who’s being interviewed about the year. I’m pretty repellent, actually! And you’ll like my wig.”

Back in May, Brooker said he wasn’t working on a Season 6 of Black Mirror because the current reality was already dark enough. “At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart,” Brooker told Radio Times. “So I’m not working away on any of those [Black Mirror episodes].”

After hearing Grant’s news, it sounds like he the Black Mirror creator have changed his mind.
