What are the best movies to watch right now? Check out the great dramas, thrillers and comedies you can buy or rent this weekend.

Fatman

Mel Gibson stars in Fatman, an edgy take on the Santa Claus legend. Releasing just in time to launch the holiday season, this mysterious dark comedy centers on Chris Cringle who, in order to save his declining toymaking business, is forced to go into a partnership with the U.S. military. And then when you add on a bizarre cat-and-mouse game with an assassin hired by a jilted 12-year-old, you’ve got yourself a holiday movie that is even more out of the genre than Die Hard!

Girl

Nothing is worse than when someone beats you to the punch, but things get a lot more interesting when someone does so when getting revenge! And that is exactly what Bella Thorne’s character experiences in Girl, the mystery thriller film about a young woman who heads back home to exact revenge on her abusive father, only to discover that someone already beat her to it. But things get a little more complicated as this realization takes her down a hole that will uncover a dark family legacy even more disturbing than she could have ever imagined.

Fiddler on The Roof

A bird may love a fish, but film and musical fans everywhere love Fiddler on the Roof! This classic cinematic adaptation of this Tony-winning musical tells the story of Tevye, a milkman and father of five daughters living in the fictional Ukranian ghetto village of Anatevka in 1905. Set on the backdrop of the Russian Anti-Jewish pogroms of 1903–1906, the film follows Tevye as he works hard to maintain his religious traditions despite constant encroachment from the outside world. And to his daughters’ unconventional romantic entanglements aren’t helping in the slightest! Fiddler on the Roof is an old tale with a timeless message, plus we can’t help but put out our hands and shimmy when Tevye (played by Chaim Topol) sings “If I Were a Rich Man.”
