Norman Lear, 98, Celebrates “Return Of My America” After Joe Biden’s 2020 Election Win

On Saturday morning, a 98-year-old Norman Lear shared some #breakfastthoughts on Twitter for his followers. The iconic television creator and producer, who is a WWII veteran, said that he has never had a “more joyous” morning than when he learned that Joe Biden had defeated Donald Trump to become the next president-elect of the United States.

In the video clip, the One Day at a Time producer said, “I could not be happier, more content, more excited about the return of my America. I feel it had been lost in recent years.”

After Pennsylvania was called for Biden after an arduous ballot counting process while an anxious America awaited, the 2020 election was decided in the early morning hours by numerous media outlets. Hollywood stars quickly took to social media to share their reactions to the news.

Lear, who was behind the legendary show All in the Family is also a United States Army Air Forces veteran. “I flew 52 missions in World War II with the same kind of love I am experiencing in this moment; with the joy of knowing we have a solid president for the next four years and a return to sanity. God bless America.”

Lear has long been a political commentator and a vocal critic of Donald Trump.
