Netflix Begins ‘You’ Season 3 Production Equipped With Branded Masks

Warning: Spoilers ahead for You Season 2.

Joe Goldberg, your favorite charming bookworm/cold, calculated serial killer, is back at it. You has begun production on Season 3, Netflix revealed today, which means we’re about to be seeing a lot more of Joe’s twisted idea of romance. The official You Twitter account teased the very early stages of production on the latest season, sharing a snap of star Penn Badgley (Joe Goldberg) staying staying safe with a themed mask emblazoned with “Hello You.”

“We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times,” they captioned the photo. “YOU S3 is back in production.” The third season of Netflix’s thriller comes after an epic cliffhanger that closed out Season 2, revealing that Joe wasn’t the only killer in his new relationship. Now, we’re just a little bit closer to finding out what’s in store for Joe, Love (Victoria Pedretti), and their baby on the way. Oh, and it looks like Joe has yet another target: his new next-door neighbor in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

The third season of You is expected to premiere sometime in 2021. Along with Badgley, we’ll likely be seeing Pedretti again, and we know that Scott Speedman (Felicity) has signed on too. Entertainment Weekly reports that Speedman is joining the cast as Matthew, a character Netflix describes as “a successful CEO, husband, and uncommunicative father. He’s reserved, mysterious, and has a tendency to be withdrawn … all of which masks a deep well of emotion underneath.” Other Season 3 additions include Search Party‘s Shalita Grant and Transformers‘ Travis Van Winkle.

You, which is based on the books “You” and “Hidden Bodies” by author Caroline Kepnes, originally premiered on Lifetime in 2018, airing one season on the network before switching to Netflix, where Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming. The series was renewed for Season 3 earlier this year.
