Who Is Victoria Neuman on ‘The Boys’? Meet Claudia Doumit

The Boys Season 2 is the gift that keeps on giving—and that’s because the show is unfolding week by week instead of all at once. This week’s installment in Amazon’s hit super show fully introduces audiences to a new character that we’ve only briefly seen so far: Congresswoman Victoria Neuman.

But who is Victoria Neuman? Who plays her and, like, what’s her deal? Here’s everything you need to know about The Boys‘ new supporting player.

Who is Congresswoman Neuman on The Boys Season 2?

Victoria Neuman is a congresswoman making some serious waves in Season 2 of The Boys. We first see her on TV in episodes 1 and 3 of Season 2, and she gets her first super-encounter in Episode 5, “We Gotta Go Now.” Congresswoman Neuman is super skeptical and critical of Vought International, especially after the reveal that powered individuals aren’t born with their abilities, but in fact they’re granted superpowers via an injection of Compound V. Pair that with footage of Homelander casually committing a war crime by slaughtering people overseas, and Neuman has had enough. She holds a rally outside Vought, one that draws attention from Homelander himself.

Is Victoria Neuman based on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

While the show hasn’t officially come out and said that yeah, Neuman is the show’s take on AOC, the similarities are right there. They’re both young, progressive, outspoken women of color working in congress.

One comment from Homelander during the rally in Episode 5 really solidifies the connection, though. He tells Neuman that he liked her “Walk Like an Egyptian” dance that he saw online. That’s almost definitely a wink to AOC’s dance video from her college days.

Who plays Victoria Neuman on The Boys Season 2?

Victoria Neuman is played by Claudia Doumit, an actor that previously worked with Boys showrunner Eric Kripke on his cult hit series Timeless. On that show, Doumit played time travel engineer Jiya and was a series regular for both seasons.

Who is Victoria Neuman in the Boys comics?

There actually is no Victoria Neuman in the comics—but there is a Victor Neuman. He is, however, way different from the character we see on screen. Victor Neuman was the vice-president and former CEO of Vought. Victoria is very much neither of those things. She’s also not a parody of George W. Bush, which is who comic creator Garth Ennis based Victor on. So while their names are similar, pretty much everything else is totally different.
