The Alienist Season 2, aka The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, premiered to a lot of fanfare on TNT last Sunday. The second season of the historic crime drama reunites Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Bruhl), John Moore (Luke Evans), and Sara Howard (Dakota Fanning), a trio of New York society folks each obsessed with crime in their own way. Whether or not you missed the two-hour premiere or have been waiting all week for more, here’s when you can catch an all new episode of The Alienist tonight on TNT.
The Alienist is based on the best-selling 1994 novel by Caleb Carr. That book, and its sequels, focused on the fictitious “alienist” Laszlo Kreizler. Alienists were early experts in the burgeoning field of psychology, and Dr. Kreizler has unique insight into the criminal minds of the day. He teams up with John Moore, a society boy-turned-illustrator, and Sara Moore, a headstrong heiress with designs of being the first woman employed by the NYPD, to hunt down a peculiarly vicious killer.
In Season 1 of The Alienist, the team hunted a serial killer targeting boy prostitutes. Now in The Alienist Season 2, Sara is now leading a women’s detective agency that keeps finding itself confronted with missing children. Moore and Kriezler team up with Sara and her agents to bring justice to those who need it most.
