‘Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe’ Coming to Disney+ in August

Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe is coming to streaming, just before summer vacation comes to an end. The Phineas and Ferb movie will premiere on Disney+ Aug. 28, the platform announced today.

The upcoming animated movie will focus on a different central character, Candace (Ashley Tisdale), the sister of Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (David Errigo Jr). Feeling unappreciated by her family, Candace disappears when she is abducted by aliens and taken away to another universe, where all of the beings worship her. Phineas and Ferb set off an adventure to find their sister and bring her back home, according to Variety.

The cast of the original show, which aired from 2007 to 2015, will reunite for the film, which stars Tisdale (Candace Flynn), Martella (Phineas Flynn), Caroline Rhea (Linda), Dee Bradley Baker (Perry the Platypus), Alyson Stoner (Isabella), Maulik Pancholy (Baljeet), Bobby Gaylor (Buford), Olivia Olson (Vanessa), Tyler Mann (Carl), Dan Povenmire (Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz) and Jeff Marsh (Major Monogram).

Some other big names are joining the adventure, too, including Ali Wong (Super Super Big Doctor), Wayne Brady (Stapler Fist), Diedrich Bader (Borthos) and Thomas Middleditch (Garnoz).

Disney will air all episodes of the original show in anticipation of the Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe release. Starting on Aug. 25, Disney XD will run every season of Phineas and Ferb. The show is also available to stream on Disney+.

Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe marks the second film in the Phineas and Ferb franchise. The first, Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, aired on Disney Channel in 2011. The animated series follows two brothers who are plotting how to make the most of their summer vacation before school starts back up again in the fall.
