‘Pose’ Season 2 Is Finally on Netflix

Get ready for another dose of savage realness. Pose Season 2 has finally arrived on Netflix, which means you have no excuse for missing the show — if you missed out the first time around.

Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Steven Canals,  Pose paints ’80s ballroom culture as a fairy tale. The series is unafraid to explore the dark reality of the LGBTQ+ community during this era in history: everything from the AIDs epidemic, to violence against trans women is explored. But Pose‘s heart never lives in these dark examinations of homophobia and transphobia. At its core, Pose has always been about love. It’s about a chosen family that bands together to endure some of life’s most difficult hardships as one.

And in Season 2 things get more intense and emotional than ever before. As Blanca (Mj Rodriguez) grapples with her positive diagnosis, she becomes more involved in activism and more ambitious in her day-to-day life. Meanwhile, romance abounds for just about everyone else. The lovely Angel (Indya Moore) finds love and acceptance in just about the last place she would expect. And Pose‘s ever-fierce emcee Pray Tell (Billy Porter) gets a new lease on his love life in the form of a much younger boyfriend.

But more than anything, what Pose Season 2 embodies is evolution. In this drama’s first season, ballroom culture existed as an accepting, loving bubble in the middle of a world that hated this community. In Season 2 that bubble has shattered thanks to the premiere of Madonna’s “Vogue.” It’s an examination of a phenomenon that’s often under-explored and little understood… How can a culture survive once it has been brought into the mainstream?

There are a million and one reasons to watch Pose, from Pray Tell’s sass and those ballroom looks to Angel’s heartbreaking romance. But no matter why you’re watching, whether for ferocity or family, Pose Season 2 is here for you. And it’s absolutely worth your attention.
