Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romjin are planning an extremely quarantine-specific show. The celebrity couple is teaming up with CBS for the upcoming special Haircut Night In America, where they’ll show off their own DIY haircuts and learn styling tips from the pros.
The hour-long show will feature advice from professional hair stylists on how to properly cut your own hair at home, and O’Connell and Romjin will act as hosts on Haircut Night in America. Healthcare workers and some special celebrity guests — including Kelly Osbourne, Olympian Lindsey Vonn and hockey superstar P.K. Subban — will all learn from the stylists and flaunt their own “quarantine coifs.”
The show comes at a time when people cooped up inside have turned the scissors on themselves to give a trim, bangs or a full-on buzz. Although all 50 states have lifted some restrictions in an effort to begin reopening during the coronavirus, rules vary and some people have access to salons and barbershops, while others still don’t.
“Many increasingly hirsute people are missing their regularly scheduled salon appointments, and now more than ever need expert advice on how to rein in their unruly manes,” reads the special’s description. “After nearly three months of social distancing, the time has come for people to take haircare into their own hands.”
Haircut Night in America will teach viewers some tips for home haircuts, and stylists will guide the celebrities in a “cut-a-long” from their homes, with the results revealed on the show no matter how disastrous or impressive they turn out to be. O’Connell and Romjin will also shoutout some of the best “self-haircare moments” they’ve seen on social media during the special.
“We’re all in this together, and we’re all starting to look a little shaggy. So grab your scissors and join us for a night of makeovers, stars, laughs, tips and celebrity home haircuts overseen by the best stylists in the world,” said Haircut Night in America executive producer Tom Forman.
