Killing Eve Season 3 is really trying to kill us. In just the first four episodes, we’ve seen darling Kenny (Sean Delaney) murdered, Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) almost gunned down, and the long-awaited Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve (Sandra Oh) kiss. However tonight’s episode ended with a murder that will certainly change the dynamics of Killing Eve forever. Believing that she is being reunited with her husband Niko (Owen McDonnell) in Poland, Eve actually walks into a trap and she witnesses her beloved husband’s murder.
Yup, Niko Polastri is dead. Villanelle’s shifty handler Dasha (Harriet Walter) murdered him and set it up to look like Villanelle did the deed. In fact, she even lured Eve to Poland with texts Eve thought were from Niko. The whole thing was a sadistic setup to ensure that Eve and Villanelle can never kiss again! (Well, that last part is what I think. I mean, I don’t think Eve’s going to want to swap spit on a double decker again after this.)
So is Dasha trying to pit Eve and Villanelle against each other? Even more so than they’ve been pitted against each other in the past? When Decider spoke to Killing Eve showrunner Suzanne Heathcote, we tried to get the dirt on Dasha’s big plan.

Heathcote said, “I mean, Dasha knows what she’s doing. She’s not going to let anyone get in her way. She wants to get back to Russia and she’s going to do whatever’s needed.”

Dasha’s actions are definitely intended to rattle Eve, but could there be an unintended consequence?
“It definitely spurs Eve on — let’s put it like that — in terms of what she needs to do and how she decides to get to the bottom of what’s happened,” Heathcote said, before acknowledging she was being cagey on purpose. “I know that’s so vague, painfully vague.”
One thing that Killing Eve fans will finally get some intel on is Villanelle’s family. The end of Killing Eve Season 3 Episode 4 saw Villanelle rebelling against Dasha’s orders and leaving Spain unauthorized. Her destination? The Russian village where her family is, aka “HOME.” Killing Eve will introduce us to Villanelle’s family next week in a crackerjack episode that is sure to make fans reassess the charismatic assassin.
