Hollywood on Netflix is destined to make your weekend a bit brighter and more glitzy. But at only seven episodes it’s a pretty quick binge watch. Will there be a Hollywood Season 2 on Netflix? And if so when will Hollywood Season 2 come out?

Created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, this Netflix original rewrites history for the more progressive. As a group of friends and aspiring stars try to make a name for themselves, they inadvertently make history. Here’s what we know about the futures of these crazy dreamers.

Will There Be a Hollywood Season 2 on Netflix?

At the moment no plans have been announced for a second season of Hollywood. The drama was envisioned to be a limited series, meaning after it told its seven-episode story, it was supposed to be over. But that’s never stopped Netflix and Ryan Murphy before.

The super producer is the one who popularized limited series in the United States. American Horror Story, FEUD, American Crime Story — those were all technically limited series, baby. Similarly, Netflix’s Seven Seconds was supposed to be a typical drama that was transformed into a limited series. What we have here is the king of stand-alone seasons playing in the sandbox of a streaming service that revels in flexible formatting. If enough people fawn over Hollywood‘s glitz and glamour, it’s very likely that this limited series will become part of an anthology.

When Will Hollywood Season 2 Premiere on Netflix?

The project was first announced in February of 2019. It was released a little more than a year later in May of this year. Assuming that’s how long it typically takes to make a season of Hollywood and assuming the series is renewed, we could reasonably expect Season 2 in spring of 2021.

What Could Hollywood Season 2 Be About?

The first installment of this fairy tale wrapped up in a pretty tight bow. Raymond (Darren Criss), Archie (Jeremy Pope), Camille (Laura Harrier), and Avis (Patti LuPone) were all able to make the movie of their dreams, the racism and sexism around them be damned. That likely means a Season 2 will likely go in one of two directions. Spoilers ahead.

A new installment could pick up with Henry Willson’s (Jim Parsons) movie about the first on-screen gay couple. If the series went in this direction Ace Studios would have to yet again break boundaries and move forward social progress in the ’40s. But knowing Murphy’s work, it’s far more likely that he and Brennan will focus on a completely different period of Hollywood history. May we suggest something during the Silent Age?
