Pixar’s YouTube Cooking Series Shares Recipes From ‘Toy Story’, ‘Onward’

Move over, Martha Stewart, because Forky has arrived in the kitchen! Bored parents and kids alike will be excited to hear that Pixar is offering cooking tutorials on its YouTube channel that teach viewers how to make different recipes from the animation studio’s popular films.

So far, there are three videos on the Pixar YouTube series, Cooking With Pixar, but they’re all adorable, easy to follow and nice and short. Plus, when we’re all inside baking banana bread anyway, new recipes are a very welcome change. Right now, the series features characters and recipes from Toy Story 4, Onward and the short film Bao. All of the films featured in the cooking series are currently available to watch on Disney+.

Each of the cooking tutorials has special guest instructors to help out with making the dish. First, they’re hand-drawn at the start of the cooking process, then they come to life to help mix ingredients in a bowl, knead some dough and decorate the final product.

The first video in the series features the lovable, plump dumpling from Bao, who helps show us how to make the titluar ingredient in the 2018 short. The next recipe comes from Toy Story 4, with Chef Forky assisting in the creation of Pizza Planet pepperoni pizza with bell pepper rings. The sneaky little guy tries to make a run for the trash, but he sticks around long enough to  see the steaming pizza off for its delivery.

The most recent film in the Cooking With Pixar series features Ian’s vanilla birthday cake from Onward, which he and Barley help bake with the help of a little bit of magic.

While Pixar’s YouTube cooking series includes easy-to-follow demonstrations, the videos do not come with written recipes, and they also don’t specify portions or measurements. All of the instruction is totally visual, so you might want to consult a cookbook or food blog before you tackle them, just in case.
