Sling TV’s ‘Happy Hour’ Promotion Gives First-Time Users Hours of Free Live TV Every Night

Sling TV just announced one of the most extensive free streaming deals to be offered to home audiences during the coronavirus. The live streaming service has launched a new promotion called “Happy Hour Across America” that gives first-time users the chance to try out Sling at zero cost every single day of the week for hours at a time.

New Sling users now have access to Sling Blue every night from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. local time, giving them free primetime TV content across multiple channels like HGTV, Bravo and FX. Ordinarily, Sling Blue costs $30/month for  access to over 50 live channels and 50,000-plus on-demand titles. Sling Blue users can also stream shows across multiple devices at once and use the service’s free cloud DVR.

“Since we can’t serve you a beverage or basket of hot wings, we’re introducing a new kind of happy hour – TV ‘on the house’ every night,” Sling Group President Warren Schlichting said in a press release today. “Much like a real happy hour, TV is often a shared experience. So grab your favorite refreshment, tune in with your friends and family, and get those group chats ready.”

For the company’s “Happy Hour” promotion, new customers can try out Sling Blue by signing up on the Sling website. You don’t have to enter a card number for payment to secure the trial; just your email address will do the trick. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll have free access to live network news, new episodes, and movies and shows from Sling’s on-demand collection. Sling did not say how long the “Happy Hour” deal would last, but this promotion marks the latest discount from the streaming service. Last month, they created the “Stay In And Sling” deal to give users free news and entertainment during the coronavirus.
