CBS All Access’s first original drama, The Good Fight is back for Season 4. The series started out as a slightly naughtier spin-off of the hit CBS legal drama The Good Wife and has morphed into one of the most wildly experimental dramas on television. Now in its fourth year on the streaming service, The Good Fight Season 4 plays with reality, introduces a haunting conspiracy, and gives us Hugh Dancy as a doddering law associate.
The Good Fight follows The Good Wife‘s Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) as she struggles to recoup her perfect life after it all falls apart. In Season 1, she learns that her fortunes have been embezzled in a Bernie Madoff-like scheme, her dream retirement villa in France is gone, and Trump is now president. Undaunted, Diane sets up shop at a prominently Black law firm, where she teams up with Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) and Liz Lawrence (Audra McDonald) to push liberal agendas forward.
The Good Wife Season 4 opens with a bottle episode following Diane into an alternate reality where Hillary Clinton was elected president instead of Trump. It then plays with reality even more by following what happens after Reddick, Boseman, and Lockhart merges with a mega firm.
