Amazon‘s Untitled Lord of the Rings series finally has a cast. In addition to the previously announced Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones) and Morfydd Clark (Dracula), Counterpart‘s Nazanin Boniadi and “Young Ned Stark” himself, Robert Aramayo, will be heading to Middle Earth in the upcoming series. Amazon Studios execs Jennifer Salke, Vernon Sanders, and Albert Ching shared the news during Amazons’ executive session at the Winter 2020 TCA press tour. They also shared that the series will begin production next month, meaning, yes, it’s really happening.

Over two years ago — all the way back in November 2017 — Amazon announced that they had made a deal with the Tolkien estate to make a television series based on the appendixes and notes (like those found in The Simarillion). A year later, a Twitter account shared that the series would be set in the mythic Second Age. Now we know that Morfydd Clark will be playing a new, younger take on Cate Blanchett’s Galadriel, and that Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman will be joining the cast.

There’s still no word, beyond Clark’s casting, who these actors will be playing or what race they will be. Vernon Sanders teased that there would be more updates later this month.

Earlier, Sanders gave an update on another hotly anticipated fantasy adaptation at Amazon. He said they were “well under way in production” on The Wheel of Time, noting that these big world-building shows take time to craft. Salke even suggested that they could have pulled footage from that, but they didn’t want to share too much, too soon.
