When Will ‘The Report’ Be on Amazon Prime?

The year of 2019 truly is the golden age of streaming, because this year is granting us not one but two Adam Driver streaming films. The more-buzzed-about film is Marriage Story on Netflix, Noah Baumbach’s painful portrait of divorce, but there’s also The Report, an Amazon Studios film starring Driver as Daniel Jones, the investigator working for U.S.Senator Dianne Feinstein who compiled a detailed, 6,700-page report of the CIA’s use of torture on suspected terrorists following the September 11 attacks. After a hard-fought battle, a condensed and censored 500-page version of the report came out in 2014. The full, redacted version remains classified.

Written and directed by Scott Z. Burns, and produced by Steven Soderbergh, The Report also stars Annette Bening (as Senator Feinstein), Ted Levine, Michael C. Hall, Tim Blake Nelson, Corey Stoll, Maura Tierney, and Jon Hamm. While Marriage Story will be the film most likely to earn Driver his Oscar nomination in 2020, he’s very good in The Report, a film that offers him a chance to play the unequivocal hero of the story. Fans won’t want to miss this film, and the good news is that The Report is coming to Amazon Prime very soon. But when?

WHEN IS THE REPORT RELEASE DATE?

The Report was released in select theaters on November 15 (pushed back from its original theatrical release date scheduled for September 27).

WHEN WILL THE REPORT BE ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO?

Great news, the wait is almost over: The Report is coming to Amazon Prime on Friday, November 29. The decision to release The Report on streaming just two weeks after its theatrical release is seen by many as the first major step in Amazon’s new strategy for original films, which is starting to look a lot like the Netflix approach.

But all that means for you is that you get to watch Adam Driver heroically stand up to the CIA even sooner. Ignore your family this Black Friday for The Report—or maybe get them to join you!
