Critics are split on Netflix’s new supernatural horror series Chambers. The streamer’s buzzy new show about a woman who begins to develop different personality traits after receiving a heart transplant currently has a less than ideal 42% Tomatometer rating (and 60% Audience Score) on Rotten Tomatoes. But despite the low ratings, there’s a certain subset of fans who absolutely love this riveting thriller.
Decider’s Joel Keller gave the series a “stream it” recommendation, praising the show’s acting, stark look, and compelling mysterious elements in his review. While the series boasts an impressive ensemble of newcomers, the program also features two theatrical veterans: Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn as Nancy and Ben Lefevre. Fans are already well-aware of Thurman and Goldwyn’s résumés, but what about the rest of the cast of Chambers?

WHO’S IN THE CAST OF CHAMBERS ON NETFLIX?
Aside from the aforementioned Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn, Netflix’s newest supernatural horror series also stars Sivan Alyra Rose, Lilliya Reid, Griffin Powell-Arcand, Kyanna Simone, Nicholas Galitzine, Lilli Kay, Sarah Mezzanotte, and Marcus LaVoi.
WHO PLAYS FRANK ON NETFLIX’S CHAMBERS?
Big Frank Yazzie is portrayed by actor Marcus LaVoi.
WHAT’S THE SCOOP ON MARCUS LAVOI?
Before he played the tough but lovable Uncle Frank, Marcus LaVoi portrayed Marcus Rhodes in the 2018 action film Den of Thieves.
Prior to acting, LaVoi, a former deputy sheriff and Marine, was a full time law enforcement agent before working as a security guard on various film and TV sets. Eventually, he was asked to be a stand-in, which led to him earning parts on CSI: Miami, Days of Our Lives, The O.C., and the recurring role of Luca on The Young and the Restless.
When he’s not acting, LaVoi, who earned the nickname Batman during his time working in the Department of Corrections, stages plays with Christians themes for prison inmates. During a recent interview with Newsday, Marcus spoke about his transition from law enforcement to acting.
“I ended up getting an agent and because I had accrued a lot of sick leave (as a cop in the San Diego Sheriff’s office). I would drive up (to L.A.) the night before an audition, find the location then sleep in the truck,” the actor said. “The next day I’d clean up at some gas station, then go do the audition. I did that for years and years.”
Born and raised on the White Earth Indian reservation in Minnesota, LaVoi is an active fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
WHO PLAYS SASHA ON CHAMBERS?
Sasha Yazzie is played by actress Sivan Alyra Rose.
WHERE HAVE I SEEN SIVAN ALYRA ROSE BEFORE?
Chambers is Rose’s first mainstream acting role, and not only that, it’s a historic one.
Sivan Alyra Rose is the first Native American woman to star in a leading role in a television series. During a recent video op-ed for Mic, Rose spoke about the significance of her role and how she hopes the series will help to shift the narrative of how Native Americans are portrayed in Hollywood.
“Watching old Western movies, it’s always war bonnets and tomahawks and Cherokee-esque regalia,” the actress said. “That’s not even my tribe. It’s not a lot of people’s tribes. But everyone, as a whole, will assume that Native Americans will look like this because of what Hollywood pushed on it.”
Sivan attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe before moving to LA to pursue an acting and modeling career. She’s an accomplished runway model and in April of 2016, she also exhibited her own skateboard art at the Silver and Turquoise Ball.
WHO PLAYS BECKY ON NETFLX’S CHAMBERS?
Becky Lefevre is portrayed by Lilliya Scarlett Reid. With her only other IMDB credits being Viena and the Fantomes and Alyeska: So Long, Chambers is Lilliya Scarlett Reid’s first major acting role.
An artist, model, writer, and painter, Scarlett was born in New York but grew up in Montana before eventually moving to LA. From an early age Lilliya was immersed in the arts (both her parents are writers), and back in February of 2018, Scarlett was was named Milk.xyz’s artist of the week.
Before embracing a career in the arts, the multi-hyphenate wanted to be a chef, even working at different restaurants from the ages of 14 to 16. Lilliya opened up about her creative process during her interview with Milk.xyz.
“Well, most of my work is just images in my head, but sometimes I’ll just get on with the paint and create something without origination behind it,” Scarlett said. “It’s just flow. A lot of my earlier work was a reflection of experiences and growing up in the world of Los Angeles. Now, it’s more about images. It’s like I am manipulating and digesting the outside world to a greater extent and what is coming out has gone through a greater deconstructive process.”
