Will There Be A 'Workin' Moms' Season 8 on Netflix?
It’s that time of the week again. Yup, you know exactly what that means. It’s time for another Woman Crush Wednesday. This week we’re giving some love to the woman who does it all, Catherine Reitman.
WHO’S THAT GAL: Catherine Reitman
WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: We love people who keep it real, which is why we’re totally crushing on Reitman. In her real life inspired series, Workin’ Moms we see it from postpartum depression all the way to nipple piercings. One thing we really appreciate from our strong female characters is relatability and Reitman totally brings it. Her character Kate isn’t perfect (because who really is?) but she wears those imperfections like battle armor. While she may not be the mom dressing up as a princess for a baby’s birthday party, we still applaud her for the strength and dedication to her family she shows constantly throughout Season 1.
Workin’ Moms isn’t just about motherhood. It’s about being human. The show is truly a gift to everyone. It’s perfect for mothers, because of the super relatable struggles the women in the show face. But also for those of us who aren’t yet ready to have a baby, the show is a hilariously real depiction of what to prepare for. There is never a dull moment in this fictional, but hyper-realistic world. And Reitman’s story is never one-sided. We watch the mothers’ day to day struggles with judgy moms and coworkers and really feel for them. Motherhood doesn’t come easy and there’s no right way to do it, but the show makes us appreciate mothers everywhere so much more.
WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: While Reitman is known for Workin’ Moms, she’s also popped up in other places too. She played Dre’s coworker in black-ish and has appeared often throughout the series. If you’re a fan of comedy, you may also recognize her from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia as Maureen Ponderosa, Dennis’s high school sweetheart. Reitman even voiced a character in the animated comedy Space Jam.
WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: You’re in luck because Workin’ Moms is going to be coming back with Season 2 and 3. The show originally premiered on Canada’s CBC network in 2017 but is now available in the US thanks to our pals over at Netflix. There’s no current date set for when those seasons will be streaming, but definitely keep an eye out.
