Woman Crush Wednesday: ‘Miracle Workers’ Star Geraldine Viswanathan Is A Showstopping Sweetheart

Happy Wednesday, or maybe we should say happy Woman Crush Wednesday? This week we’re honoring a true angel from the heavens, Geraldine Viswanathan!

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: On Miracle Workers, she plays an angel assigned with the duty of making miracles happen, but TBH the best miracle of all is watching her every week! What can we say? We’re totally smitten with Viswanathan.

During the first episode of the TBS series, we learn that the world is in danger of being destroyed but only because God (Steve Buscemi) doesn’t want to deal with it anymore. In hopes of saving mankind, Eliza (Viswanathan) decides to make a bet with God to achieve a miracle that has been deemed impossible. Have you ever been so passionate about something that you’d do ~literally~ whatever it takes to achieve it? That’s our girl, Eliza.

At only 23 years old, Viswanathan has already put herself on the media’s radar as one of this year’s breakout stars, and we’re 100 percent here for it. While Miracle Workers’ more cynical comedy had us intrigued, Viswanathan is what kept us coming back for more. Her bubbly energy and always optimistic personality had us falling head over heels in love. Role after role, she never disappoints and we can’t wait to see her onscreen again.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Viswanathan has been a total breakout star this past year. Not only is she rocking our worlds in Miracle Workers, but she also appears in a bunch of other projects. One of her most popular roles to date is Kayla in Blockers. In the movie, Viswanathan’s character, along with her two best friends, decide to lose their virginities on prom night. This lovely lady also appears in Netflix’s The Package as Becky, Emo the Musical as Jamali, and the Australian legal drama Janet King as Bonnie Mahesh.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Viswanathan is starring in the coming-of-age film Hala, which just appeared at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Apple shortly after. She is also set to star in Hugh Jackman’s new film Bad Education. There’s nothing we’re more excited about then seeing her as the star in an undoubtedly funny movie, where Allison Janney and Alex Wolff are also set to appear. There’s no official release date for this movie, but we’re praying for the miracle that it comes out soon!
